Chef Dan and I restored our historic “Coal Heritage Trail” building (built in 1922 as the Empire Coal & Coke Company’s “Miner’s Clubhouse) the winter of 2002, and we opened our new home as the Elkhorn Inn & Theatre in May 2003; I started this blog in 2008, focusing on the Inn and our lives in southern West Virginia, as well as our “foodie” travels around the world. I have finally taken the plunge and joined the 21st century, moving it to WordPress, with a brand new website: southernwestvirginia.org! Enjoy!
